Meet Hector
A first-generation American, Hector Mujica grew up in South Florida after his parents immigrated from Venezuela in search of opportunity. Raised in a humble middle-class family, he watched his father serve as a pastor and community elder while his parents worked tirelessly to provide for their children. The Mujica family home always served as a refuge—welcoming new arrivals, families in crisis, and people experiencing homelessness. Sharing rooms, sharing meals, and pitching in to help neighbors wasn’t unusual; it was expected. Those lessons guide Hector today: every person deserves dignity, and leaders should build pathways, not barriers.
